What a fantastic dining experience! My family of four enjoyed an early dinner at Arthur and Sons. We were lucky enough to be seated upon arrival. We started with the fried mozzarella which was delicious. Next came the AMAZING bread and dipping sauce. We ordered rigatoni with vodka sauce, rigatoni with bolognese, the chicken Vesuvio, and my youngest enjoyed buttered pasta with a side of meatballs. The 1/2 plate of cannolis were the perfect way to end the already fantastic meal. The service was on point making the experience even more enjoyable. Arthur and Sons is a true gem!
I’ve had such good experiences the times I’ve gone to the restaurant. I feel like they need more reviews and get more credit for their amazing food & drinks! I can’t help myself when I go to get an espresso martini, with a rigatoni alla vodka & & chicken cutlet with mozzarella! Service is always great! Give them more credit !! For my husband & I it was between here & Carmines ! & well Arthur & Sons won !
I will start noting that all of the staff were very nice and pleasant. Just about everything else was not. I booked an early reservation for an anniversary. At arrival, we were told to leave the restaurant and go find the restaurant two doors down to be seated there. The other location was a very different scene that was not advertised online or through the resy app. It was more of a pizza shop atmosphere with checkered tablecloths and filled with smoke from the kitchen. Normally I wouldn’t care but we were trying to have a nicer evening. I politely asked to be seated in the main restaurant for our special occasion and was given a table in the back corner of the restaurant basically in the kitchen where it was easily 85 degrees. After taking a loss with the seating situation, we ordered our drinks and dinner with our exceptionally nice waiter. We had the sausage and peppers (good), the Chicken Vesuvio (way too sweet and nothing like the traditional dish) and the spicy rigatoni (good but not worth anything close to the price). After being served, nobody checked on us for the rest of the evening. Ultimately, my girlfriend and I both got ill from dinner about two hours after leaving the restaurant, which lasted all throughout the night. Even if we didn't get sick from the overpriced dishes, this just doesn't compare to the caliper of West Village dining. For the same prices, better off trying a tried and true Italian restaurant like I Sodi, Bella Blu, Carmines, or Scarpetta.
Tasty Italian spot in a good location right on the corner. The pasta was extremely well cooked and the sauce was incredible. Not the cheapest, but geez it’s soo good. I know it’s just a salad but the Cesar salad was one of the best I ever had too. The service was also quality and quick. He also let us place a late to go order and was very accommodating. There is a small dinning area in the main part of the restaurant but they have more space next door.
Food, service, and atmosphere were all great. The food was super tasty, but a bit pricey at nearly $40 for shrimp and pasta. Still, worth checking out for a nice night out.
